9/24

2 years ago this week I went on my first run ever. 1 mile in 9 minutes and 15 seconds. Every second was agonizing. It was truly miserable. Despite that, I immediately signed up for my first half marathon after it. 8 weeks away. The soonest I could find.

Ever since that first run, I’ve been hooked. On running. On endurance. On the beauty of the struggle against your own mind. Even knowing that, I don’t think I could’ve ever predicted I’d be here today, 105 days away from my first Ironman. It’s a special feeling, knowing how far I’ve come in just 2 years. Knowing how far I have yet to go over the next 15 weeks and over the rest of my life. Time moves both fast and slow. Seize the moments you have, and trust in yourself to make unreasonable progress.
