6 months for forever. It might not seem like that long of a time frame, and it’s not. But 6 months of hard work is more than enough to irrevocably change your life.
Being an Ironman is something I’ve wanted for as long as I can remember. It’s the pinnacle of endurance. Since I was a kid, it’s felt inevitable in a way. I’m not sure why. I’d never done anything to give myself confidence in that fact.
2 years ago, I hadn’t run a mile in years. 8 months ago I signed up for my first 70.3 triathlon. 1 year ago I swam for the first time and could barely swim 25 yards. 8 months ago I bought my first triathlon bike. 6 months ago, I ran the best marathon of my life. 5 months ago, I became an ultra marathoner. 2 weeks ago I did my first ever triathlon, and had a blast.
Today, I finished my first week of Ironman training. So many moments have led to this point. Now I stand on the precipice of finally becoming an ironman. 6 months for forever.
